During his two-day visit to Goa, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party National Convener Arvind Kejriwal expressed concern over rising unemployment, the downturn in the tourism industry due to the Corona epidemic and the plight of unorganized communities like taxi drivers. He also criticized those who use money and resources for getting government jobs.
The Aam Aadmi Party has announced that it will contest the Assembly elections in Goa next year. Against this backdrop, Kejriwal came here and explained the situation of various sections of the society. He also performed pooja at Rudreshwar temple.
Kejriwal, who is on a two-day visit, was welcomed at the airport by party leaders. He also met the taxi drivers present at the spot. Talking to Kejriwal, the taxi drivers expressed grave concern over the financial crisis caused by the lockdown. He held discussions with prominent personalities of the Bhandari community. The Bhandari delegation complained that many have lost their jobs due to the economic downturn.
Unemployment in Goa is alarming. It has become difficult for the youth to get employment. "We are coming to discuss these and other issues with Goenkar citizens," Kejriwal said on social media. He has also alleged that government jobs are given only to those who have money and those who can influence senior officials or politicians.
