The much-awaited Vitthal Tupe Patil Theater in Hadapsar was inaugurated by Lilavati Tupe, wife of late Vitthal Tupe, with a grand ceremony. The theater, built by Pune Municipal Corporation, was attended by dignitaries from various fields, including MLAs, Municipal Commissioner Dr. Rajendra Bhosle, and film personalities.
The theater, which took 15 years to complete at a cost of Rs 45 crore, boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including an air-conditioned auditorium, automatic screens, JBL sound system, and spacious seating arrangements. It has a total seating capacity of 838, with parking for 107 cars and 350 two-wheelers.
MLA Chetan Tupe expressed satisfaction at the completion of the theater, which was his father's dream. He noted that the inauguration coincided with his father's birth anniversary.
However, the absence of prominent leaders, including Guardian Minister Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, sparked discussion among attendees.
The theater is now open to artists and enthusiasts, providing a platform for cultural events and activities.
