He said that the Citizenship Amendment Act is linked to the National Register of Citizens. This is the reason why they are vociferously opposing this law. TMC supremo Mamata said that she does not want to build a detention camp in Bengal on the lines of Assam. CM Mamata claimed that BJP is using CAA as a political maneuver ahead of Lok Sabha elections 2024.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a list of 29 documents
It is worth noting that the central government has clarified that after the implementation of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) in India, getting citizenship is not a complicated process. According to the government, a total of nine documents can be used to answer the question of country of origin. According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, any of the 20 documents can be used to prove the date of arrival in India while applying for citizenship.

It is significant that Mamata Banerjee's brother has raised questions about the selection of candidates in West Bengal. Targeting Bai Babun Banerjee for questioning Trinamool Congress decisions and speaking against the party, Mamata said that she has decided to sever all ties with her brother.
