PM Modi, Bollywood Stars to Launch WAVES
Summit on May 1Mumbai, April 25, 2025 – A mega event is coming to Mumbai! The World Audio Video Entertainment Summit (WAVES 2025) will kick off on May 1 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Bandra Kurla Complex. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this four-day summit, which is being called a first-of-its-kind by officials. Organized by the central and state governments, it will bring together big names from Bollywood, industry experts, and government officials.The summit will see delegates from around 40 countries joining hands to discuss the future of the media and entertainment world. From movies to digital platforms, gaming to artificial intelligence, WAVES 2025 will cover it all. The first two days will focus on cinema, filmmaking, and marketing, with exciting panel discussions lined up.
On day one, a special session called “Legends and Legacies: The Stories That Shaped India’s Soul” will feature superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Mithun Chakraborty, Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, and Chiranjeevi. Actor Akshay Kumar will host this talk. Another highlight will be “The New Mainstream: Breaking Borders, Building Legends,” with filmmaker SS Rajamouli, actors Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, and music legend AR Rahman, hosted by Karan Johar. Fans are also excited for a chat between Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar titled “The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler,” where SRK will share his inspiring story.
The summit will tackle big topics like regulating digital broadcasting, protecting copyrights for creators, the role of AI in media, the future of movie theaters, and the growth of animation, gaming, and virtual reality.
A special Bharat Pavilion will also be launched, showcasing India’s rich storytelling traditions. Themed “Kala to Code,” it will highlight how India’s culture influences global stories, with the message of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – the world is one family.WAVES 2025 promises to be a game-changer for India’s media and entertainment industry, blending creativity, technology, and global collaboration.
