Malawi MoTI Officials Embark on Hands-on Agricultural Training at AIC-ADT Baramati Foundation
India – April 16, 2025 – In a significant step towards strengthening agricultural innovation and trade capabilities, delegates from Malawi’s Ministry of Trade & Industry (MoTI) have arrived in India for a six-day hands-on training program at the AIC-ADT Baramati Foundation.
The training, titled "Hands-on Training in Agricultural Value Addition, Packaging, Branding, and Marketing," runs from April 14 to 19, 2025, and is part of a Triangular Cooperation (TrC) initiative involving India, Germany, and Malawi. The program is supported by the German Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), GIZ India, GIZ Malawi, and Atal Innovation Mission (AIM).
Program Focus: Enhancing Agri-Value Chains in Malawi
The initiative aims to equip Malawian officials with practical knowledge and skills to boost agricultural productivity, reduce post-harvest losses, and improve marketability of local produce. Key focus areas include:
- Value Addition Technologies – Innovations in processing millets, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products.
- Agribusiness Incubation Models– Strategies to foster sustainable agricultural enterprises.
- Packaging, Branding & Marketing – Best practices to enhance the commercial viability of agri-products.
