Speaking to a gathering of young delegates from across the country, he highlighted the importance of having educated and ethical candidates in politics for a better future.
Naidu reminded the audience that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated the country needs one lakh young representatives in the legislature. He stressed that if educated and morally upright candidates do not enter politics, the nation risks electing individuals with negative tendencies. Naidu urged the youth to take responsibility for the nation’s development by actively participating in politics and public service.
The discussion on 'Indian Culture vs Western Glamour: The dilemma of Indian Youth' was chaired by Dr. Vishwanath D. Karad, Founder of MIT World Peace University. Other dignitaries in attendance included Kuldeep Singh Pathania, Speaker of Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly; Former Speaker of Lok Sabha Sumitra Mahajan; MP Arun Govil; veteran actress Khushboo Sundar; former Union Minister C.P. Joshi; Acharya Shivam; and Rahul Karad, Founder of the Indian Student Parliament.
Naidu also shared his personal journey, recalling how after the loss of his father, he took responsibility for his family and community. Despite the overwhelming grief, Naidu continued to work towards solving the issues of his constituency, which eventually led to his election for a third consecutive term. He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for trusting him with the role of a Union Minister and reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling the expectations of his constituents and the nation.
Khushboo Sundar, speaking at the event, pointed out the need for the country to unite and embrace both Indian and Western cultures while retaining the essence of Indian traditions. She emphasized that while respecting Western culture, it is crucial to never forget our roots. The pride in Indian culture should be nurtured, she said, as India’s youth are the country’s future.
Kuldeep Singh Pathania urged the youth to take the best from both Western and Indian cultures but never lose sight of their Indian identity, as Indian culture has given us our identity on the global stage. He added that respecting other cultures while maintaining one’s own culture was a duty of every Indian.
Rahul Karad highlighted that the Indian Student Parliament aims to create a strong democracy in India through the education and training of youth. He stressed the importance of youth engagement in shaping the future of the country.
Arun Govil, a prominent actor, shared that Indian culture is deep-rooted in the heart, while Western culture tends to be superficial. He stressed that embracing Indian culture, as shown in the teachings of the Ramayana, would help unite the nation and make India a global leader.
Naidu concluded by reaffirming the government's commitment to improving India's civil aviation sector. He assured that the necessary infrastructure for a world-class aviation service is being developed, promising significant changes in the field soon.
