SP-Congress Alliance Faces Tug-of-War Over UP Bypoll Seats!
A clash has erupted between the Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress over seat allocation for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh bypolls. The two parties, buoyed by their performance in the Lok Sabha Elections, aim to challenge the BJP's dominance.
The dispute centers around three constituencies: Mirapur, Phulpur, and Majwan. Both parties refuse to back down, citing strategic importance. Mirapur, with its significant minority and Dalit voter base, is particularly coveted.
Congress sources reveal preparations are underway for all 10 seats, but with reduced focus on SP-held constituencies from 2022. The SP is willing to cede Ghaziabad and Khair to Congress but remains adamant about retaining Mirapur, Phulpur, and Majwan.
SP leaders deny allegations of withholding minority-dominated constituencies, while Congress leaders claim Muslim voters now firmly back their party.
The BJP, meanwhile, focuses on uniting workers and contesting elections, following poor performance in previous polls.
The seat allocation standoff will soon come to a head as the bypolls approach.
