FORMER MINISTER AMIT DESHMUKH DEMANDS IMMEDIATE RELIEF FOR FLOOD VICTIMS IN NANDED AND HINGOLI DISTRICTS

Mumbai : Former Minister and MLA Amit Vilasrao Deshmukh inspected the flood-affected areas in Nanded and Hingoli districts and demanded immediate relief for the victims.

Heavy rains and subsequent floods have caused extensive damage to standing crops and land in Marathwada, with soybean, mung, tur, sugarcane, and banana crops among those affected. Soil erosion has left some land barren, while floods have inundated towns and villages, collapsing houses and destroying vital commodities.

Deshmukh, accompanied by MLA Mohan Humbarde and Congress functionaries, visited affected areas in Nanded city, including Pakija Nagar, Bilal Nagar, and Lakshmi Nagar, and interacted with flood victims. He instructed the administration to make a Panchnama of the damage and assured the victims that he would follow up with the government to provide necessary help.

In Hingoli district, Deshmukh visited Dongargaon (Pool) in Kalmanuri taluka and inspected damaged agricultural crops and houses. He met with flood victims, including Nilabai Barge, whose house was damaged, and assured them that the Congress party is standing with them.

Deshmukh also visited Azam Colony near Hingoli and Hanagdari in Sengaon Taluka, accompanied by former MLA Bhaurao Patil and Congress officials.

The Congress party demands that the government immediately announce relief to the disaster victims and provide necessary assistance to those affected by the heavy rains and floods.
