Pune: Cosmos Co-operative Bank ltd. is celebrating its 119th anniversary on Saturday, 18th January 2025. The significant achievement while celebrating this year’s anniversary is that Cosmos Bank has amalgamated 19 small co-operative banks uptil now. On 6 th January 2025, Bengaluru based The National Co-operative Bank was amalgamated into Cosmos Bank. The said bank has a total of 13 branches out of which 12 branches are located in Bengaluru and 1 branch is located in Mysuru. The business setup of The National Co-operative Bank at the end of December 2024 was Rs. 1,326 Crore. ‘After this amalgamation Cosmos Bank has a total of 183 branches (17 branches in the state of Karnataka) and a business setup of more than Rs. 36,500 Crore stated Chairman of Board of Management, CA Milind Kale.
Recently, the election of the Bank’s Board of Directors for the period 2024-25 to 2029-30 was held unopposed. Both Adv. Pralhad Kokare and CA Yashwant Kasar were unanimously elected as Chairman & Vice-Chairman respectively in the very first meeting of Board of Directors.
Other Members of the Board of Directors of the Bank are as follows:
Rasika Gupta, CA Surekha Joshi, Praveenkumar Gandhi, Ajit Gijare, CA Santhanam Subramaniam, Ghanshyam Amin, Sachin Apte, Arvind Tavare, Balasaheb Sathe, Anushree Malgaonkar and Rekha Pokale.
Considering the increasing expansion and business of the Bank, The Board Of Directors restructured the Board of Management. CA Milind Kale has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Management and the other Members are as follows:
CA Jayant Barve, Adv. Anuradda Gadale, Adv. Mukeshkumar Shah, Gajanan Godbole, Sanjeev Khadke, Sunita Bhor, Sushilkumar Somani, Nitin Patwardhan, Dr. Achutha Jois, Adv. Ajay Suryavanshi and Vijay Kulkarni.
Bank will definitely benefit from the experience of three Directors from the previous Board of Directors of the Bank as they have been included in the Board of Management. All the Members of Board of Management are experts in various fields which will be an added advantage in framing the Bank’s policies and implementing them effectively.
