CPI Launches Scathing Attack on CM Biren Singh, Demands Resignation Over Violence!
Imphal : The Communist Party of India (CPI) has launched a scathing attack on Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, holding him directly responsible for the recent wave of violence that has gripped the state. The party has demanded that Singh resign from his post immediately, stating that merely apologizing for the violence is not enough.
The CPI has accused Singh's government of failing to control the violence, which has resulted in the loss of many lives and widespread destruction of property. The party has also alleged that the government's inaction has emboldened the perpetrators of the violence, allowing them to continue their attacks with impunity.
"The Chief Minister's apology is nothing but a mere formality. It is not enough to assuage the feelings of the people who have lost their loved ones and property," said a CPI spokesperson. "The Chief Minister must take responsibility for the violence and resign from his post. Anything less would be an insult to the people of Manipur."
The CPI's demand for Singh's resignation has added to the growing pressure on the government to take decisive action to restore peace and order in the state. The party has also called for a thorough investigation into the violence and the identification and prosecution of those responsible.
The violence in Manipur has been ongoing for several months, with multiple incidents of arson, looting, and clashes between different communities. The state government has imposed curfews and deployed security forces to try and restore order, but the situation remains volatile.
The CPI has also criticized the central government for its handling of the situation, accusing it of failing to provide adequate support to the state government to deal with the crisis.
"The central government has been woefully inadequate in its response to the violence in Manipur," said the CPI spokesperson. "It is the responsibility of the central government to ensure that the state government has the necessary resources and support to deal with the situation. Instead, the central government has been content to simply issue statements and do nothing concrete to help."
The CPI's attack on the Manipur government and the central government is likely to escalate the political tensions in the state, which is already reeling under the impact of the violence.
