"Beyond Borders, Beyond Barriers: Students Unite to Offer Food Scholarships to Needy Peers"

On

Pune, Maharashtra - In a heartwarming tale of resilience and community, Student Helping Hands, a non-profit organization founded by Kuldeep Ambekar in 2018, has provided food scholarships to over 4,000 students from drought-affected areas.

The Crisis: In 2016, Maharashtra faced an unprecedented drought, forcing students from Marathwada to choose between education and survival. Many were unable to afford basic necessities, including food.

The Solution: Ambekar, a student himself, recognized the urgent need for support. Student Helping Hands was born, with a mission to provide food scholarships and bridge the gap between students and essential resources.

The Impact: To date, the organization has:

- Provided food scholarships to over 4,000 students
- Facilitated access to government schemes and advocacy for student rights
- Developed a robust supply chain, partnering with corporate donors and the Robinhood Army

A Recipient's Story: Galib Kamal Hassan Ansari, a third-year BA student from Modern College, credits Student Helping Hands with helping him continue his education. "The food scholarship has been a great help, even for college fees," he said.

The Vision: Ambekar envisions a future where no student is forced to choose between education and survival. "We aim to bridge the gap between students and resources, ensuring that every young mind can thrive," he said.
