Ajit Pawar Clarifies Stance on Chief Minister Post and Seat Allocation!
Mumbai - Ajit Pawar, in a recent interview with Indian Express, has shed light on the Grand Alliance's strategy for the upcoming Maharashtra Elections 2024. When asked about the leadership of the state, Pawar confirmed that the Chief Minister will be from the Grand Alliance, but emphasized that determining the face is not the current priority.
Pawar stated, "The focus of the grand alliance will be on winning the elections. The Chief Minister will definitely be of the Grand Alliance. However, determining the face is not the current priority." He also clarified that discussions on leadership have been put on hold until success in the elections.
Regarding seat allocation, Pawar said, "Seat allocation will be based on the ability to get elected. The three of us will sit together and take a decision regarding who has the strength in which constituency." He expressed the party's willingness to contest 60 seats, citing their previous win of 56 seats in the 2019 elections.
When questioned about the ideological differences with BJP and Shiv Sena, Pawar defended the alliance, stating that they had made it clear they would not compromise on secular ideas. He also pointed out the hypocrisy of not questioning Congress and Shiv Sena for their past alliances.
Pawar concluded by reiterating his decision to refrain from speaking against anyone, including Sharad Pawar, and focus on his work.
