National Republican Party Expresses Concern Over Supreme Court's Decision on Scheduled Castes and Tribes

Mumbai, Ramesh Autade

Annasaheb Katare, National President of the National Republican Party, expressed concern over the Supreme Court's decision directing the state government to classify Scheduled Castes and Tribes. Katare believes this decision will lead to disputes and disunity among the Scheduled Castes and Tribes groups.

Addressing a press conference at the Mumbai Marathi Journalists Sangh, Katare questioned the basis for classification, given that a Scheduled Caste-Scheduled Tribe census has not been conducted in Maharashtra. He demanded that the court reconsider its decision.

Katare criticized established parties for exploiting backward classes for votes while being unclear on the issue. He emphasized that the National Republican Party is committed to empowering these communities.

The party is strengthening its presence in Maharashtra, with a vigorous campaign underway. Notably, veteran Republican leader Anant Panchal has been appointed Mumbai Regional President to bolster the party's strength in the region.
