BSP state president Armstrong killed, 8 suspects arrested; Demand a high-level inquiry
State President of Bahujan Samaj Party in Tamil Nadu K. Armstrong was killed on Friday. He was talking to some activists outside his house in Perambur, Chennai. At that time, 6 people who came on a bike attacked him with sharp weapons. He died in this attack and this incident has created a sensation in the country.
The assailants fled after attacking Armstrong with knives and swords. He was admitted to Apollo Hospital. But the doctor declared him dead before the treatment. After Armstrong's brutal murder, there is tension in the area. Meanwhile, Eight suspects have been arrested by the Chennai police in connection with Armstrong's murder. A senior police officer gave this information.
Speaking about this murder, Tirikta Police Commissioner Garg said that the police has formed 10 teams to crack the case. He said, we have arrested eight suspects so far. This is a preliminary investigation. Suspects are being interrogated. He said that there are 2-3 suspicious motives behind this murder.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed his concern about the murder. Stalin said the police have been ordered to investigate the matter quickly and bring justice to the culprits as per law.
BSP supremo Mayawati also expressed grief over Armstrong's murder. The brutal killing of K Armstrong outside his Chennai home is very sad and highly condemnable. My condolences to Armstrong's family & relatives. A lawyer by profession, Armstrong was known as a strong voice of Dalits in the state. Mayawati demanded that the government should take strict action against the culprits immediately. The SP supremo will go to Tamil Nadu tomorrow to console Armstrong's family.
