Missouri / USA : A shocking case of racism has come to light in Missouri, USA. Here an 85-year-old man shot a black teenager just because he rang the doorbell of his house after wandering off. Ralph Paul Yarl, 16, is reported to be in critical condition after being shot.
What was the whole matter?
Prosecutors in Missouri have charged Andrew Lester, an 85-year-old white man, with first-degree assault (violence) and a criminal offense using a weapon. It is reported that Ralph accidentally rang the old man's doorbell last week while he was looking for a friend's house to pick up his twin brother. The old man then came out with a gun and shot Ralph twice.
The controversy over the matter started when the police, after keeping them in custody for 24 hours, released the elderly man without registering any case. After social media outcry, Clay County Prosecutor Zachary Thompson announced on Monday that the man had been indicted and his bail set at $200,000.
